Police in Taiwan and China have cracked a massive telephone fraud ring that had swindled thousands of people out of millions of dollars over *** years. A joint operation by police on either side of the strait saw them arrest 122 members of the ring while netting almost US$2 million. Police said that the alleged ringleader of the gang, 31-year-old high school dropout Jiang Yung-ji, spent hours training members of the ring how to use police and legal language so they could con people over the phone into parting with their cash.
